I keep reading about how gays and lesbians choose to be that way, which got me to thinking, if gays and lesbians choose to be homosexual, heterosexuals like you and I must have chosen as well, except I can't recall making that decision. So, in an effort to live vicariously through others, I'm asking, would you share with me what happened on the Day that you decided to be a heterosexual?
I realized I was hetero (though I admit I did not know what it was called at the time) the day the little girl in the third row did not show up and we were told her family had moved. That was the worst day of first grade. I cried all night and couldn't even talk to anyone about it since I did not know what her name was.
I started a thread and poll over a year ago on this very subject and over 82% of heterosexuals voted that they never chose to be straight but just were. Apparently the only experts that can be counted on must be heterosexuals, they must think that they know everything about being gay, even though they are straight and have never been gay. I know that I never made the choice to be gay or straight, I only decided to accept who I am regardless of what others had to say on the subject.
Well it works both ways. Heterosexuals do choose not to be homosexual and the reverse. Saying that Heteros are born that way or Homos are born that way is equivalent to saying that people who prefer vanilla ice cream were born that way. (Although obviously, one's preference in flavor of ice cream is not usually seen as controversial.) I don't see what the big deal is, if that is your preference, it is what it is.

I do not think Straights have a choice while Gays at some point decide to either follow the traditional path or take a road less traveled.
