How do you know if you're a positive voice for America? You're ending up on hate lists for the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Meet the 'Patriots' | Southern Poverty Law Center

Looks like pro-pot legalization advocates Napolitano and RP made the list as well. Appreciate the thumbs up, SPLC!

I swear I haven't seen this volume of superfluous quotes in a long time. Is the writer of this section still in grade school?

Great link. Hopefully lots of people will actually read it. Here's a good excerpt:

"These men and women have helped to put key Patriot themes — the idea that President Obama is a Marxist, that he and other elites in the government are pushing a socialist takeover, that the United States plans secret concentration camps and so on — before millions of Americans, many of whom actually believe these completely false allegations. Whether these people tell such tall tales because they believe them or simply because they are willing to shamelessly pander for votes or ratings, is anyone's guess; but the noxious effect on the body politic is the same. Here are profiles of four such characters:"

I voted for Broun simply because I liked his view of things I knew nothing of him hating the non citizen communist posing as the president until after he got elected but that made it even better.

Actually, Ron Paul has referred to Obama as a corporate fascist and even explicitly said Obama is not a socialist or marxist, so SPLC is wrong there as well. But, considering the copious amounts of quotations characteristic of a intermediate school student's writing, I'm not surprised.

ahhh, a birther. that says something about the quality of the critical thinking skills involved in analysis and decision making. Proof, please, that the "non citizen communist" is in fact a non citizen communist. Oh, you have none. Thought so.

SPLC is NOT saying that Obama is a socialist. They are saying that the people they listed are saying that and making other false allegations which were given birth by the far, extreme right-wing groups.

Since when did "quotations" become the hallmark of "intermediate school" children's writing?

Another excerpt from your link, which I think is very well said and very accurate:

"The Enablers

One reason the resurgent antigovernment "Patriot" movement is taking off so quickly is the support for many of its central ideas that comes from ostensibly mainstream figures in politics and the media."
