We don't have the power to destroy our planet. It's got a way of taking care of itself.
I wonder if some people have any idea where that oil came from.

1989 may have been a while back , but still 21 years later the black sludge is still on the beach, under rocks, and into the soil.....Not much of a change...as to outcome.

No, we cannot destroy the planet. This planet has weathered massive tragedies in its millions of years of existence. Tragedies that FAR surpass an oil spill, car emissions, etc.

Has or has not oil ALWAYS existed in the Earth? Did man inject oil into the Earth? This world has ALWAYS recovered quickly from anything thrown its way. If you think humans are truly powerful enough to destroy this planet, you're the one that's truly clueless.

Should we do our part to take care of it? Yep. Should we clean up after ourselves? Yep. But should we start legislating against anything and everything that someone perceives as a threat (real or imaginary)? Heck no.

This oil spill is nothing more than a small blip on the radar for this planet and it won't affect it in any way.

Exactly! What will be required to create the equipment and drive this "alternative" energy? Hm...oil perhaps?

How short sighted.

Do you honestly think you will not be affected by $10 a gallon fuel prices, when farmers, truck drivers, construction companies, taxi cabs, Post Office and UPS delivery trucks and aircraft, and any of the many utilities and services companies that rely of on fleets of vehicles will all see their costs for doing business go up? Think of $10 a gallon fuel as a sort of VAT tax, which raises the cost of every product.

The Fuel surcharge is a federal requirement based on the price of fuel...every Tuesday it is ajusted. Our Currently surcharge for example is 22 per cent of the line haul cost.( Truckload).Other Companies and type of Carriers can use formula's based on mileage and tariff requirements. The applicable cost of fuel is determined by using the DOE National fuel index. The surcharge applies to all transportation services which consume fuel in the US. by Motor Carriers.

Come on, don't be silly, of course s/he doesn't. However, you must admit, s/he won't be as affected as someone who has a thirsty SUV or Mini-van that needs $100/wk now to keep running. You can see that, yes?

Right you are, the planet has not, will not, cannot be destroyed. I get it. Life on the planet is, however, under threat of extinction. All the sick sea life washing up, the deformed wildlife, sick and deformed people. So, it's all good. After we're gone the planet will just keep on turning. If you are so anti-life, why do you keep hanging around?
