Ms. Palin has finally jumped the shark by announcing the we should "Go back to what our founders and our founding documents meant - they're quite clear - that we would create law based on the God of the bible and the ten commandments."

Let's be fair to her. It's "former half-term Alaska governor Sarah Palin". Please.

I'd love it if America took a more Jefferson-ian approach to laws.

Another News Flash:

The The Supreme Court building has a number of places where there are images of Moses with the Ten Commandments. As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door and a display of the Ten Commandments is also engraved over the chair of the Chief Justice. Also in the House chamber, above the Gallery door, stands a marble relief of Moses, surrounded by twenty-two other lawgivers.

I thought America's laws were based on the constitution

Wow! You sound like a proud graduate of the Sarah Palin Institute of Advanced Jurisprudence.

Could you direct me to the provisions of our legal system that embody these commandments:

Quote:
I am the lord thy god, thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

Thou shalt not take the name of the lord in vain.

Remember thou keep holy the lord's day.

Honor thy father and thy mother.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
After that, maybe you could conduct a seminar on the biblical foundations of the separation of powers, the Electoral College, the Universal Commercial Code, and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Really? That must be why we have references to "Not worshipping any other gods," "Honoring thy mother and father," and "Not coveting your neighbor's wife" (or his oxen or slaves) in the Bill of Rights...

And of course freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and the right to due process are spelled out exactly in the Ten Commandments... Right

You also believe that our founders were mostly Deists and I think that if you look beyond progressive propaganda you will find that most of them were Christian gentlemen. Why else would God have put so many real thinkers together in that room?

Palin knows a bit more about those Founders than any of you of the left lean, or so it seems.
