Wow, I thought Illinois would be MUCH higher, if not the highest on the list. Look at some of it's Hall of Fame/Shame members:
Judging by this post, its clear you are disappointed to find out you know nothing about other states, and assumed all blue leaning states where the most corrupt. Hope you learned something today.
I've often wondered about this type of rating, and the frequency of how often you hear about this official or that official getting arrested for corruption of one kind or another...
Does that mean the state is more corrupt or is more effort being done to catch and arrest people? For example, living in Tennessee now, you hear fairly often about an official of one kind or another being arrested, charged, convicted etc., but when I lived in Washington and Oregon, I rarely if ever did.
Are people in WA and OR more pure? Seriously doubtful.
my state number 14, but this has to be one of the most biased studies I have seen, look where it came from...If nothing else it is fun reading, give me something else to do on a rainy day in, no, not Georgia..
Current state #7. State we're planning on moving to is in the high 40s.
These things are pretty much meaningless, though. Anybody can come up with any criteria they want, and add weight where they choose. For instance, the WHO report that all the kooks cite that ranks the U.S. is being horrible when it comes to health care put a lot of weight on what they call "access." The socialist utopias are obviously going to rank very high compared to the U.S. when the most important thing to the people creating the report is how much it costs to walk through the door.
Anyway, fun little list, but like I said, meaningless.
