I see more hostility versus vegetarians/vegans in this thread than I've ever seen the other way around.

They looked like skeletons with a blanket of flesh hanging on them. They both had NO muscle tone whatsoever and their arms were as flabby as could be, like their skin was hanging off the bone. Their eyes looked sunken in, the whole nine. They really did look like they were anorexic. I don't know who vegans are fooling when they try to say that they look great. They sure aren't fooling me while I'm grilling a 2-inch thick T-Bone!
That's funny, because I know quite a few vegans and none of them look as you described... I mentioned earlier that my hubbys mom is a vegan yoga instructor and she's in her mid 60s and looks like she's 40. She has more energy than women half her age and she looks FABULOUS.

Well, I am about to ROCK your WORLD because I am a PRO hunting vegetarian.

I actually admire people who want to eat meat and have the balls to hunt or harvest or raise and slaughter their own. More power to you!

If you are taking over-populated (thanks to us humans) animals out of the wild quickly and cleanly and using every body part possible you are indeed doing a good thing.

"Hypocrisy" has been mentioned in this thread, and I must say I see it more often from the meat-eaters from those who abstain.

You know what I mean. The folks who would eat a cow, but never ever ever "bloody" their hands by actually taking the knife to her throat.

They eat cow, and chicken, but wrinkle their noses at those who eat dog and cat and squirrel. As if only the "cute" animals deserve to remain uneaten. Please.

I have to agree with you some because I know a lot of meat eaters who think some of the stuff I eat is too weird. My dad's American Indian so I grew up eating bobcat, coyote, raccoon, bison, snake, gator, and just about everything else. I don't think it is hypocritical for most people who eat meat to not hunt because it's out of convenience. It's just not convenient for most people to hunt their own food.

Me too.

I understand and accept that evey piece of flesh eaten is a sacrifice.

I think it is sad indeed that so many are so far removed from their daily sustenance .

Do I look 'malnourished' to you?

Do you think you AREN'T supporting industrial agriculture when you buy your tofurky? That's a frankenfood, my friend, a by product of modern day engineering.

Do you think you are somehow better because you eat a cardboard box, as opposed to a guy who hits the woods and kills something for dinner? Or the family farm who harvests what they have humanely grown and can see?
I'm not some sort of ascetic, who believes in eating unpalatable foods because it makes me better than everyone else. I'm not obsessed with defeating 'industrial agriculture', I'm not a health nut, and I don't support surving on twigs and berries in the forest is a viable way to live in our modern society. I'm just saying that a meat eater has no business lecturing me on the environmental impact of my eating habits, which is true.

Read this article The Locavore Myth - Forbes.com on the 'locovore myth'. It lets you know, anyway you slice it, even if you rely on local farms for your animal products, that simply eliminating meat from your diet does far more.

The Clean Energy Scam - TIME
How does that source address vegetarianism or refute any of my claims??? In fact, it argues against the expanse of agriculture, which is proof of my point. When most of our crops go to feed farm animals and as consumption of meat increases, there will be more deforestation as more crops need to be raised to mee the growing demand.

I'd gladly become vegetarian if veggies actually tasted good.

I find I am often commented about that I don't eat meat. I never say anything to others about the rot they put in their mouths but they seem to always have comments about what I eat. guess it is different and therefore bad in most of the minds of the ignorant.Oh well you choose your poison and I will chose mine. Keep your comments to yourself. because I really could care less what anyone thinks about what I eat.... I didn't ask so don't volunteer.
