ONLY because the sidearms the soldiers were carrying were used.
That's rather speculative but I guess they had a lot more than paint ball guns. Rather a mismatch based on the results and not very professional for what is supposed to be professional soldiers with automatic weapons, rockets. Once again a use of totally excessive force by Israel and now a total refusal to allow any reasonable investigation on an incident that occurred in international waters.
Oh yes, they are such humanitarians. We have seen their humanity - Darfur, Sudan, Rwanda, Iran, N Korea.
They despise the palestinians just as much as the next guy.
Do you realize that Egypt has in place their own little gaza blockade?
Now, why would that be?
Egypt's blocade is on their own border, Israels blocade is in international waters. Egypt just removed their blocade of the border because of Israel's actions. I can see this entire situation escalating out of control very rapidly due to Israels actions. No good can come of US support for them and will drive any allies we have in the arab world. I don't see any solution to the state of Israel ever.

Not when they shoot unarmed people in the head.
Israel's violent actions have resulted, as often, in blowback and unintended consequences--Egypt has opened their gates to Gaza and the civilized world is demanding a lifting of the blockade--exactly the opposite effect Israel meant to effect when their soldiers landed on the boats.
This is an important lesson-force applied is turned ruinously upon itself.
The more i see of these "peace activist", the more i think israel was wrong. Israel should not have boarded that ship, but instead sunk it!!!!
