Well as I said two weeks ago we need to go 3-3 over the next six. We are currently 0-2 and need to finish the stretch 3-1. Likely? No. Impossible? No.
While there were many reasons why we deserved to lose in Seattle, it doesn't help the cause when you play against the opponent and the refs. No wonder they call it the 12th man in Seattle.
Looking at the standings we are right there with a host of teams at 4-4, 4-5 or 5-4. Question is will teams like the Cheifs and Broncos drop back to the pack? And can we keep pace?
The next 4 games are 1. at Cincinnati 2. home Jacksonville 3. at Oakland and 4. home Pittsburgh. Winning 3 of those is extremely unlikely. With Wood out with another broken leg (2009 was the first) the running game will suffer.

My take on the Wood injury is that it is something a team should overcome. How many teams go through an entire season with all five of their starting o-lineman. If you think about it, the o-line has as a group has more starting players than any other positional group. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that a team makes it through 16 games without starting lineman missing many games. Last year Miller missed most of the season. This year we have been relatively healthy on the line with only Glenn missing the first two games.
I agree the up coming games are tough. But the whole reason I circled them to begin with is that, if you are a good team, you will at least spilt them. You can't be a good team by trying to be the Jets last year. Basically beating up on bad or injured teams and losing to every good team you play. If the Jets would have stepped up just once last year and beat one out of six good teams they would have made the playoffs. Instead they lost to all six.
Our next game against Cincinnati is the key. Win that and conceivably beat Jacksonville at home then we just need to split the final two.
Watching this game was torture and an exercise in futility. 2 bad teams with bad QB play. I don't know how Cinci ever made the playoffs. Dalton was inaccurate as was Tyrod and if we make the playoffs by some miracle we won't go far. We have nothing but a short dump-off passing game, no throws downfield. Tyrod makes some nifty runs but the passing game over 10 yards in non-existent. Tyrod 19/27 166 6.1 70.9 QBR - Andy Dalton 24/43 207 4.8 57.0 QBR. A win is a win but I see nothing to get me excited about this team.

Well we were without Sammy, Woods. And McCoy never returned after halftime. I wasn't expecting a high scoring game given those circumstances. Hopefully Sammy comes back against the Jags or Raiders. We are going to need him if we make a move.
This was a good win though. Plus the Chiefs loss at home to the Bucs. That made it even better so all in all I have no complaints. Tough road win to snap a three game losing streak against a team that also desperatley needed a win.
Former Bills great rookie RB Karlos Williams has been suspended for 10 games for violating the substance abuse policy again. I'm glad we cut him when we did.
