Everyone keeps pulling out anecdotes. But you need a lot more than "I know someone who..." to prove a case.

I am sorry to pop the victim bubble I’m not in jail I’m not a victim and he was pretty much not there

When he was there it was not Disneyland
Dealing with the violence passed on to me was hard -it involved me keeping both feet on the brakes most of the trip

Only widows get the sympathy.

My father’s father died when he was 10. My mother died when I was 12. My father struggled because he had had no role model after a certain age. I also struggled with my teenage daughter for the same reason.

That would be fair to say.

I am 87,retired after 34 yrs in 1988,married 65 years.M y mother died when I was 2 father at age 5.
There were 5 in family.oldest brother was just out of high school. We were left to the 4 winds.
He was a veteran of WW2 drafted, went on to college, built up to a 250 man machine shop etc..I also had 2 half brothers who prospered, one a Vice President of a large corp.,the other a manager.
It all depends where you place your priorities and how hard you work.

Like said, the amount of Incarcerated men being raised fatherless would indicate it is a problem. Of course, not for every undividual case, as I learned to not be like my bio father from my experience, but overall it is an issue.

My parents were terrible and were never home when I was a child but even without them being around I’m a better person NOT having them in my life anymore.
