I just buy the cheap stuff. Now THAT'S a first world problem - "I buy cheap champagne for New Years."

Lol, I drink wine from a box

This thread is funny at times. Some of the stories in that life changing events thread really haunted the hell out me.

On a serious note I've been beyond lucky in my life. That thread completely humbled me. I've been on this forum for about ten years now and i have never been as moved by stories as in that thread.

See your life people.

I had always wanted to try a really expensive bottle of champagne just once to see what it was like, so he bought a bottle for my birthday, and, to my untrained palate, it was not worth it. It was nice, but not worth it at all.

Ugh, I totally agree!

Honestly, I can't tell much difference between the cheap stuff and the expensive stuff. I guess I am an unsophisticated Philistine. Oh well.

A family friend had a part and brought out all kinds of wines from his wine cellar.

Some were quite expensive, and I can't tell the difference. My palate is pretty good for cooking... but no, I do not taste the currants, oakieness or the slight finish of vanilla....

I'm a cheap date, and proud of that.

But did I do this? Oh, no. In fact, I went in the opposite direction - I bought some wintery (not really CHRISTMASSY but wintery) items on clearance at World Market and PUT THOSE IN MY LIVING ROOM in addition to the Christmassy things.

So I am definitely going backwards in both my checking account and my personal goals. Which, as you say, are pretty low anyway.
So it goes. Our decor goes down tomorrow.

At the gym today one of the old guys told me that had intended to lose 15 ils. So far he still had 20 lbs. to go!

Those guys at the gym are jokers.

Tv shows in reruns. Guess it’s either pay-per-view movies or reading books. Oh poor poor me.

It's cold outside, I don't have any place I have to be today, I ate too much weird food at a get together last night, and I have already watched the newly released episodes of Vikings and Outlander. So I'm restless, but don't want to actually get dressed to go do anything.

I don't even have any books I want to read - I had to get on Amazon and order a coupla more.

Plus I just want the holidays to be over at this point.

On the plus side, my Christmas decorations piled up in my dining room did eventually get to me enough for me to put them all away so progress has been made!
