The people who say money doesn't buy happiness have never gone without food or a blanket.

I think you're confusing comfort with happiness.

There is some truth to that. I think when Denmark(?) is the happiest country, it’s more that they have more realistic expectations of what a good life is than some other countries. I think in some developed countries, kids really have pressure to have the right clothes and toys, while that pressure is less likely to be there in developing countries.

I think when they’ve done studies in the US, it seems somewhat similar. There is an amount of money where it reaches equilibrium- basically where you have enough to have most of your needs met with a buffer- you can own a home, a car, not have to worry too much about paying bills, etc. There are some people who are all about the money. At my job we have decent pay and the hours are good. There are a few people dead set on promotion, but a lot of people look at the promotional opportunities and feel like the extra money is really not worth it in terms of the higher workload and worse working conditions.

I'm not too sure about that... Think about all the rich celebrities... They're certainly very comfortable with all their money..but many of them suffer from drug addiction and mental health issues..

I wouldn't want to work at PETCO. I'd worry about where the pets go. (As in what kind of homes they'd be going to)
