On Sunday morning we went to Fishin Franks to pick up some bait, while we were there, my 4 yr old daughter fell in love with the pink "light up" rod that Frank sells. We headed out to old tire reef, where she caught her first fish. ( a sand trout ). The rest of the day was a bust, the impeller on the boat went out. But I doubt that she will remember that part of the day. Just the joy of reeling in her first fish on her new pink rod.

My oldest daughter is 25. She loves fishing, and I bought her one of those pink light up rods to use! She loves it. It stays in the garage for her to use when ever she comes down. I'm sure your daughter will love it for years to come. Clean and oil it after each use though - so it will be in good shape. The salt water hits them hard, and you want that memory to last!

FYI, yesterday was the first day out on the water, since Debby came through. I fished out by marker 2 to begin my outing (around 1:30PM), nothing was biting - nothing. So I went up the Myaka cut off, mid-way and fished around some of the points. High tide was at 3:00, and I got two really nice redfish! One was just under 25" and was a fat pig! The other was just over 20" and I thought I heard an oink when I took the hook out. ;-)

Nice score, BH! Two slots on one trip is a great day.

Went out wed and thurs.Wednesday was a slow day but yesterday the bite was on. Got into a school of jack cravelle at the entrance to bull bay just behind the stick first house and they loved the pink spook. As soon as it would hit the water BAM!! Went out of boca about ten miles and it was very slow. Came back in and the trout were really hitting yesterday on the flats just north of pirate harbor.Every cast was a fish. They were hitting a shrimp and popping cork for the wife and I was using a bass assasin with a gulp in the smoke color. This is the first time since debbie came through the bite was almost back to normal. Didn't feel very safe as all of my electronics, live well and bilge quit working yesterday.
