I say normally short because it is rarely more than 10 minutes. But I have to admit last Sunday right at the start of my NASCAR race it went on the fritz for almost an hour.

After Hurricane Charley I got TV service back almost a month earlier than the local cable because all they had to do was put up a replacement dish.

I keep one small TV hooked up with rabbit ears and because we are close enough to the major networks we get a signal from CBS, NBC and ABC plus a couple local FL stations too.

DirecTV would have shipped you a new DVR receiver overnight AIR.
yea and directv also extends your contract even when your box fails under the protection plan as well seems like with them *******s they extend your contract even when you turn the damm box on making impossable to get out of that contract

I cannot publicly say how I feel about about crapcast. If I were a god like figure in charge or things cable, it would be a dollar a month per channel that you select. So much dross and crap included in any CATV of dish type for that matter I personally can do without. Gimme a mid speed, solid link, internet and I am good.

Alas, I am but a retard and in control of little.

Makes me want to live with just a minimal cell service on a smallish boat and call it good.

Be safe and have a fine evening to all.
Patty

Had Xfinity installed yesterday.Tech who installed was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.Didn't go with one of their packages, using my DVD.Both TV and internet working great, hope it stays that way.Have known too many people who have had problems with Dish and have had my own problems with service from the phone line that Comcast seemed the better of all the bad, hope it stays as good as now.

When you get your directv set up, ask the tech to set up the SD channels as well as HD. This way when you lose signal during our afternoon rain, you (most of the time) can watch in SD until the storm passes.

If anyone wants to know how to do this, just ask. I'll post instructions.

Wondering if anyone knows which companies provide TV, internet and land line services in Rotonda other than Comcast. Also if you use a company other than Comcast are you satisfied with their prices and service?
