City Data is awesome! Thanks so much for the home and fishing advice! We are both chomping at the bit to get down there! Little over three weeks! Could you let me know if it is ok to Direct Message folks who replied to my post? Don`t want to break the rules! Lol!

Oh and remember, RW is not open to the harbor/gulf. It's fresh or really brackish but you wont get any harbor wildlife in there. Originally it was to have access to the gulf but that was shot down.
Regardless, it is nice back there. Gators, yep they are there. Watch your pets and there are no worries. They be more scared of you than you are to them. (as long as you don't feed them, against the law and downright stupid)

I preach "oh shoot, here........ but I practice "mmmmmm food"! I do go the other way except in Myaka State Park. There are other tourists to reduce my chance of becoming lunch 10 fold

You might want to fish in saltwater as an alternative to fishing in the freshwater canals. Many more varieties of fish in saltwater, and the fish can be much bigger. You'll need fish ID charts to identify them, and the rules about what is 'in season' and the bag limits, if you plan to keep them. Plus you can see pelicans, dolphins and manatees while fishing.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE INFO!!! Sware2cod, Yes, I figured I`d hit the beaches first. Haven`t fished in a while, but thought I`D learn as I go. So looking forward to it!
