R.I.P. my dear Buggah. Friend, fellow hunter, confidante, door greeter, riding companion, lovable Vizsla. The best dog I ever had the good fortune of knowing who introduced me to pheasant hunting and " the food game", which had to be played EVERY mealtime.

Thanks for the encouragement ,folks. I need somewhere to vent. People who don't have furry babies don't seem to understand the depths of the loss, the real grief we feel. I'm sitting here in the empty house, no one nudging me or pestering me about what is in the food dish. My house is filled with gear and toys that were the dog's alone. It's now hunting season and there is no four-footed companion to grab an orange vest a nd pounce at the sound of the gun cabinet door.

I'm married but even the bed feels like less, without the soft furry lump between us that used to steal balnkets and kss us goodnight and give us first greets at dawn. So sad.

I feel for you. I am also heavily grieving my loss and the hardest part is not getting much support from people who have never experienced the love of having a great pet - they are our children after all!

It is also the small things, or the imperfections that you remember the most.

At least we have this forum to share stories and offer sympathy.

Try writing down all your memories with Buggah so you can revisit at any time in the future.

So sorry for your loss. <<hugs>> I think the best way to honor a fallen friend is to get another one soon - it's like saying "you were so great, I want to have that friendship again."
