Capi's in Morrisville. (inside gas station at corner of 54 & Airport Blvd)

Excellent cheesesteaks/hoagies and inexpensive, too.

The rolls are similar to Amaroso rolls.

Expect a line at lunch time.

If anyone here ever goes to Boone, see if Chanello's Pizza is still there. They had a great steak sub, a tenderized round steak sort of meat. Only place I ever saw that type of steak on a sub.

I wish I could find a place that makes hoagies with the kind of bread they use back home, it's not really a roll, it's flatter and is super soft and chewy in the middle, but with a thick crunchy crust. You could put anything in that bread and it would be delish! It's really odd how nobody down here can make a good sub (at least I've never had one!)

Rudinos uses a flat bread style roll that sounds similar to your description for their subs, they have several locations in the triangle area.

Thanks, I'll have to give them a try! By the way, someone previously mentioned cheese steaks, and the best ones I have eaten locally were at Ledo's Pizza on Hillsborough. They slice up porterhouse steaks and use that instead of the crap other places use

I am still looking for a good sub shop, How do people pay almost $12 dollars for a sub at Jersey Mikes, I think thats how much it was last time I went around a year ago maybe with a small drink but I know It was pricey and the sub was average plus the bread wasnt even fresh.
So I ask if anyone knows around the Fuquay area a good sub shop?

I also really like JJ's Deli in Chapel Hill in Timberlyne Shopping Center.

Ive eatin many Harris Teeter subs. Good value for a better than subway sub. A good place to grab lunch while working. Not to many places you can get a sub and drink for less than 5 bucks.

My two worst? Quiznos and Firehouse.
Reading this thread this morning made me long for a sub so we went to JJ's Deli in Chapel Hill only to realize they had no place to sit down and I wasn't about to eat in the car.
So we walked down to SubWay where the condensation on the windows was so bad there were puddles of water all over the floors. Not a happy lunch.

So where in Chapel Hill is there a good sub where you don't have to stand up or swim?

OK, I'll try the Philly next, and post back with my thoughts. I've never seen those coupons, I guess because I live in Clayton and not Raleigh?

Ya get used to it...its good... till you have a slice standing on St Marks Pl in NYC... then you cant believe the blindfold youve been wearing!! lol and Bagels?? forgetaboutit
