When we moved here 18 years ago, there were no ozone days.

Now, at times, your eyes burn from the pollutants and your car windows become filthy overnight.

Not good.

I don't know, I just read that in 1998 (the year they started ozone alerts, I believe) there were 35 ozone alert days in the triangle. So far this year there have only been 3.

The North Carolina Division of Air Quality didn't start issuing Ozone Action Day alerts until 1997. So you're right that there weren't any 18 years ago.

I came here in 1997. It was brutal. I had never seen 105 degrees before.

2004 was "the year without a summer," as I recall. the heat just never got over the top, but seems like it has been playing catch-up ever since.

OMG someone snuck into that lady's garage and stole (GASP) BEER??? THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

Anyone who has ever lived anywhere there is REAL crime thinks this a joke. Of course someone will steal from you if give them an opportunity, that would happen anywhere and doesn't make a place any less safe. Now personal and violent crimes... that's where you need to start to worry.

Cary had those too. Not too long ago, a Cary cop was shot in the face by a drug dealer. He lived but never returned to duty.

"Not too long ago?" What does that mean?
When did this happen?
