I wish there was a highway without towns/stops from Raleigh to the Crystal Coast and Outer Banks area. US 70 has gotten a little better, but is still not a highway. It shouldn't take 4 hours to get to Manteo!

You should have been around to take the old 2 lane Highway 64 to Manteo. It seemed like a days ride.

Last time we drove down to Morehead, US 70 was terrible...stop and go, stop and go. Hope it has improved.

I've been around long enough to remember it being a 2hr drive to Greenville, and 3+ hours to Wilmington.

I think there's room for lots of different things that the Triangle no longer has or has never had.

Most have been mentioned:

1) waterpark
2) amusement park
3) outlet center, Mebane and Smithfield are within an hour, but there USED to be one in Morrisville

I'd rather have it go to Miami.

Sure, as long as it makes a detour stop along the way. After all, my wife works in Miami every so often.

It's finally gone? As in nothing left at all?

The food court is open with a handful of restaurants, and UNC healthcare is using some of the mall space for training. But that's about it.
