There was a time when Triangle-area Buffalo fans would turn out, and people would travel down from Buffalo because they could get tickets here. But the long drought in Buffalo has really hurt their fan base. They are 31st in the league in attendance. Carolina is 12th.

Buffalo has been greatly impacted by Canadian travel restrictions.
A great deal of their attendance is fans crossing the border; fans who have not been able to attend. They even play both national anthems for ALL home games, not just when a Canadian team visits.
And, they certainly have lost fans, just like the Canes did, by a record stretch of non-playoff years.

With the weight of the NY media, Shesterkin is way ahead of Andersen in Vezina talk. This is a fact of of life for any Canes player. Shesterkin's numbers are only slightly better than Andersen's and it remains to be seen what happens in the playoffs.
The only trophy winner in the history of the franchise here was Skinner who won the Calder in 2011. In retrospect, though, Skinner didn't have a lot of competition. Couture and Grabner have gone on to have solid but not spectacular careers.
