There was a time when Triangle-area Buffalo fans would turn out, and people would travel down from Buffalo because they could get tickets here. But the long drought in Buffalo has really hurt their fan base. They are 31st in the league in attendance. Carolina is 12th.

Buffalo has been greatly impacted by Canadian travel restrictions.
A great deal of their attendance is fans crossing the border; fans who have not been able to attend. They even play both national anthems for ALL home games, not just when a Canadian team visits.

And, they certainly have lost fans, just like the Canes did, by a record stretch of non-playoff years.

The Road Is Long... with Many a Winding Turn...

14 seconds left to gain a point, and what a kick in the head last night.
Lost the crowd early. Got them back with less than a minute to go and lost them by end of game.

Oh well. At least the 8-year-old girl sitting behind us got a t-shirt.

Reminds me of some Carolina-Toronto games where there was more blue than red in ESA/RBC/PNC.

Big Game Tuesday Night at Mono-Sodium Glutamate. Should feel like playoff intensity.
Hoping the Canes can stay in position for as much post-season home ice as possible.

Seth Jarvis, Enforcer?
That kid has no fear.

Really great Canes win tonight.
MSG used to be a nemesis.
Not now.

Great 3rd period. Freddie has sweet puck-handling skills. Glad the likes of Jarvis, Svechnikov are not intimidated by MSG.

At least it's not the King in net anymore. Nightmares.

With the weight of the NY media, Shesterkin is way ahead of Andersen in Vezina talk. This is a fact of of life for any Canes player. Shesterkin's numbers are only slightly better than Andersen's and it remains to be seen what happens in the playoffs.

The only trophy winner in the history of the franchise here was Skinner who won the Calder in 2011. In retrospect, though, Skinner didn't have a lot of competition. Couture and Grabner have gone on to have solid but not spectacular careers.

High point of tonight's stinker....

A squadron of Raleigh Cops carrying a fan out bodily... No pants. No shoes.

"No pants. No shoes. No Hockey!"
