Freddie and the boys were outstanding in Boston again. Applause all around.
I'm harboring a quaint little hope that Detroit gets on a roll and knocks Boston out of the wild card spot...
Or, Columbus, but that is even more unlikely.
0-3 against Florida, the team in the East to beat at present. Good news is, we won't see Florida again in the regular season.
Looking ahead...
Pittsburgh twice there (counting tomorrow) and once here. Tomorrow is the first meeting.
Tampa once there and once here. Canes are 1-0 so far.
Toronto once there. Canes are 1-1 so far.
Rangers twice there. Canes are 1-0 so far.
Washington twice there and once here. Canes are 0-1 so far.
In short, against the better teams in the East we have 3 home games and 8 away games. That's challenging.
Tough slate for sure but this is where teams build character. Gotta get wins when the opportunity presents itself (like not giving up late period goals against Florida the other night, at least that ended up being an OT loss).
As it turned out, Trocheck was in the game. And the Canes won, 4-3 to get back to first in the Metro.
Trocheck had just under 14 minutes, which is low for him, but I am glad he was game ready. I was afraid that hit he took from Marchment in the Nashville game had lingering effects.
Now to go sample some Brotherly Love tomorrow in Philly!
