I'm sure Rod won't be thrilled with the game, but it does show that the team can win in a variety of ways.
Poorly officiated game, btw.
Bear bled for naught and Freddie took a heckuva hit that should have been an immediate penalty.
Rod was quite dissatisfied with the team's play, but we'll take the 2 points.
They Said It: Rod Brind'Amour following the chaotic game:
"Just the start, I thought was okay. Really, at the end of the day, that was just a bad game for us. Like, really bad. Give the other team a lot of credit, they played hard and the way they wanted to play - and we didn't. We just never got going. We're fortunate to come away with that one."
Nice win yesterday. Good to see Aho heat up, and for Svech to light the lamp.
82>37>77>24>82 was as pretty as it gets.
Sara Daniel says that SRO has been opened for tomorrow against the Caps.
First time SRO in the regular season that she can recall. Maybe 2006, she says?
Opportunity for Chatfield and Lajoie. I hope that COVID doesn't ravage the Canes' lineup, but that's a risk that all teams have to accept as a fact of life. After the season is over, hindsight will tell us which teams were the most disadvantaged by COVID.
The silver lining is that as long the players don't get long COVID, they'll have a chance to recover from the usual wear-and-tear of minor injuries without losing too much conditioning. Pesce in particular has a tendency to get banged up.
