DPAC is doing shows again. Their website talks about air filtration and cleanliness but nothing about social distancing. I tried convincing my partner to go to a show in October but he isn't ready. I don't think it's practical but I'd feel better is they spaced out the seats. They would still make more money than nothing which is what they made when the place was closed.

Yes I know they are open because restrictions were lifted, but still, they could do something to be safe.

DPAC safety commitment

From the FAQ:

Quote:
In August, DPAC will reopen at 100% capacity (2,700 seats) with no open seats between groups of seated guests.

I've got two shows coming up in October. To be honest, I really don't know. If a show were this weekend, I probably wouldn't go.

I don't hold much hope of being able to sell my tickets. It's the downside of being a season ticket holder.

Went to see Squeeze there on Monday. Masks were mandatory. You can't really distance from strangers.

Those who are high risk/aren't vaccinated would probably be a bit foolish to go, but if you're vaccinated, and aren't someone who whines about wearing a mask, it's down to what you're comfortable with.

I would go and wear a mask. My husband would go i think if there was some distancing. Even with mask and vaccination we worry about Delta.

You have over a 99% chance of just having minor illness as a vaccinated person if you get Delta. So your options are:

1. Don't go if you don't want to take the chance of falling into that <1%. In this case you should never leave your house until Covid is completely eradicated (ie, never).

2. Don't go if you don't want to ever get any sort of minor illness again. In this case you also should never leave your house.

3. Go, and don't worry about it (I know, easier said than done)

It's a personal decision, and depends completely on your own health. It doesn't really matter what everyone else says. If you're healthy, then at some point you'll have to start living life normally again assuming you're vaccinated and we don't see variants that drastically increase hospitalization rates among the vaccinated.

I wouldn't have a problem going - I'm vaccinated and if I wear a mask, I'm not too worried. The total number of breakthrough infections is still really low.

FWIW, I've seen studies indicating that 6ft distancing indoors is basically useless... not sure if that would make your partner feel better or worse.

With masks, it’s probably no riskier than an airplane. Or a classroom.

I don't think he would feel better.... I will wait until he feels more comfortable about the whole thing.
