North Hills is kinda boring too IMO - the rents there are so high that nothing interesting is really there except national chains who can afford to be there.

That's a matter of perspective. Same with Cameron Village a.k.a. The Village District. High rent. But, interesting tenants.

But it seems to me (and I don't have verifiable data to back this up, just my impressions) that Crabtree is still doing better than North Hills. With the exception of Target, it doesn't seem that the rest of the shopping area boasts the same volume of shoppers that Crabtree does.

Crabtree is much more accessible and better known regionally.

I expect at some point to see a tall apartment or condo building on part of the site. Mix up the usage of the site, with perhaps a better ROI.

The problem with North Hills, Cameron Village and others is that when it rains or the weather is bad, it is not easy to go from store to store.

I'm not sure I'd use the words Crabtree and "acccesible" in the same sentence. It's a major PITA to access.

Better known regionally I'll give you, but I'm not certain that's what's keeping crowds low at NH.

I never hesitate to go to Crabtree if I feel a need for a shop or service there.
Access is not much of an issue at all, once one knows their way around.
Of course, I suppose one could say the same for North Hills, but I generally find Crabtree easy and easier than NH.

Just out of curiosity for the 30 year old here who hasn't been to Crabtree in 6 years but what shops/services do you go to at Crabtree?

Belks.
Macy's.
Crocs.
Kitchen stuff.
Wife's Shoes.
I did pop into the Apple store once a few years ago, but was treated so poorly that won't ever happen again.

We do a lot online, but still like to fondle merchandise from time to time before buying.

Tell me about your Apple store experience? I have only ever browsed there.
