That was a great team win the other night. Pyotr isn't afraid to drift out of his crease. Martinooks goal was insane. Svechnikov 6 goals against Edmonton. Nice.
Given that Anderson's save percentage was so-so before he went out on injury (was he injured all along?), and given that Raanta is a capable backup but is not a goalie who can carry the team deep into the playoffs, it would be nice if Kotchetkov has a smashingly good season. It would remind me of how Cam Ward came to the forefront in 2005-06, especially in the playoffs.

Like a lot of Canes fans, I like the fire Kochetkov brings. The kid has personality.
And, it is clear the team loves him.
Tangential distraction....
Tom Dundon was just sued for $184 million plus over folding the AAF. (Paywall, but if you like sports, The Athletic is a bargain. With Black Friday coming up, they may well offer $15 annual subscriptions.)
"The U.S. Trustee overseeing the bankruptcy of the Alliance for American Football on Monday sued the defunct minor league’s former owner Tom Dundon, who also owns the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, for at least $184 million, alleging Dundon tanked the startup when there were financial alternatives."
