My son went camping in the mountains in March and said the only person who got cell reception is the guy who had T-Moblie.

A lot of the dead zones people are talking about (dead zones in every Target I've ever been in, hospitals and parking garages in particular) have happened with Verizon for us.

I am following this thread. I was looking into juming over to T-Mobile or ATT. I have had verizon for the past 17 years in Raleigh, but when they upgraded to 5G a year or so ago my coverage is North Raleigh...especially along Falls of Neuse North of 540 is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

Interestingly, Warren Buffet just sold all his shares in Verizon.

I think the consensus is that T-Mobile is the best value plan but AT&T is the best for consistent coverage. Obviously, which one is better for the places you spend the most time at (work, home etc....) will probably break the decision one way or another for each person

I swear there is something in the ground over by the Raleigh Grande-Target-Lynwood Grille. That whole area is terrible with T-Mobile, impossible inside and irritating outside. I definitely don’t have that issue with Verizon.

Someone mentioned Falls of Neuse. That is the one outdoor area I have found issues with both Verizon and T-Mobile. Living off Falls, that is grating. It’s about from 540 to Durant. Verizon must have upgraded something the last 3 months though because it is better, though still glitchy. But it’s back and normal by the time I pass Wake Med North. I’ve also heard great things about ATT’s coverage, but I’m gunshy at the moment.

Inducement...
An $800 credit over two years for a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
$1200 phone.
Sell my existing Galaxy Note 10+ for $225--$280.

Upgraded phone acquisition cost turns into ~ $200, to get 5G.

Yeah, will need to buy a case and tempered glass. ~$50 on top.

Save $39/month on two lines.
Pay off the cost of phone acquisition in 6-7 months, and then saving monthly.

T-Mobile has induced me.

F-V is eagerly embracing sprawl. Is it bad in ALL of F-V, or some areas?

FYI but there's an app called OpenSignal that you can download and they have sourced different coverage/download speed info from users of different cell networks so you can see what the data is like in places you'll be frequently.
