We're moving into our new home in northern Durham in less than two weeks and one of the things we want to have done this fall is having the yard landscaped...especially the drab back yard. Does anyone have any good landscapers to recommend in Durham? I'm especially interested in someone who specializes in xeriscaping &/or "green" landscape design.

Thanks!

They're not xeriscapers, but they practice sustainable landscaping with a focus on edibles:

Frank Hyman's firm does work like this. I don't know the name of the company but he's pretty easy to find on the web. (Writes a column for the N&O, ex-Durham City Councilman, etc.)

If you're considering a green roof, Living Roofs in Asheville is awesome (www.livingroofsinc.com). They do work in Durham. Also, if you need green interior design and or recycled/repurposed homegoods, try Eco Interiors in Durham (Green Interior Design / Designer LEED).
