I imagine it would rip off the side of the house easier than wood or that hardiplank stuff...and sheared off vinyl siding in hurricane winds would be no fun at all...
I think that is an ignorant position. Quality vinyl siding installed correctly holds up quite well, even in extreme weather. I prefer the look of brick, wood, and fiber cement product but recognize the need for more affordable siding options that when done properly will function well. Not everyone can afford brick or the other more expensive options so vinyl it is.
Your original statement is a fine line from saying "I think Raleigh should ban affordable housing".
