Does anyone know of a very competent and reasonably priced contractor that can install an irrigation system? Does anyone have an idea what it would cost to have one installed. More importantly, does anyone know of someone that could give me an estimate? Any help or suggestion would help . Thanks

I thought you were looking into a new house in Grandale?
I read to expect $500 per zone. I bought a house last year that already has an irrigation system, however the former owner left the bill of sale, etc. which indicates it cost about $500 per zone. I would not recommend the company that installed my system, however, my NC State graduate lawn care guy recommends Greenway Irrigation. Greenway not only focuses on new installations but also on maintenance/repair. Greenway is coming out Monday to look at my system. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give you an estimate. Greenway Irrigation, Inc. 3021 Peebles Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616 (919) 217-4340* - Home 217-4340. I can DM you the companies (2) to stay away from. All they are interested is putting in a CHEAP system and not at all interested in maintaining it properly or making repairs "we just don't make any money doing that" is what one company told me.

Yes I am, but the irrigation system is not an option and I want to start getting price quotes now in anticipation of the lot that we are considering. I like to get a head start on things so that I know how to gauge my finances .
I just inspected a house in Grandale as was suprised when the client told me they dropped that option! Builders tend to make out pretty well on irrigation...different market now though I guess.

I can't imagine doing better than a recommendation from an NCSU Turf Graduate (if I understood the post correctly), but, the previous homeowners of the house we purchased used Rainy Days Irrigation and were fully satisfied. Thus, we hired them to come out and service the system shortly after we moved in. They were competent and provided punctual, affordable, and courteous service. We were satisfied and plan to continue to use them.
