I am looking for a great independent mechanic shop for my Audi. I do not want to take it to the dealer any more. I am in DT Raleigh and I prefer something as close as possible. Any suggestions out there? I'd really appreciate some good advice. Thanks!
I take my Volvo and VW (Audi) to Import Auto Pro in Wake Forest. Quite a hike for you but the guy (Rodney) is awesome. There's also an Import shop on Durant Rd, I haven't been there but the place is large and always packed with cars.

Sorry, I went BACK to the dealer after trying AutoHaus Imports in Raleigh, they had good service for couple of years then something happened, the guy I used to work with (Mark) was suddenly gone. Coincidentally after that I got diagnosed for a not so small issue that the dealer (2nd opinion) said was not even a problem, and they forgot to re-install some parts after a small service.
What's the differnece, 95 vs 120 an hour for labor? If it means not having my car running well or getting repairs I don't need, I'll foot whatever is outside of the warranty.

Primary expertise is Saab (and apparently Maserati) but their web site says they do all foreign and domestic brands. I have read many happy reviews posted by Saab owners.
We take our VW to Village Motorwerks (which was in Cameron Village but is now in Boylan Heights). We've been really happy with them. They are the kind of people who will charge you nothing if the problem is really nothing, and will refer you if it isn't within their scope.

That sounds perfect. I could almost push my car to them. They are close!
The last time I went to the dealer they overcharged me on time. They billed me for more time than the car was even in their possession.
I'd recommend Washburn Motorsports in Raleigh. Awesome service - very reasonable labor rates and fast, trustworthy service. Hard to find (as a woman) an honest auto repair shop. I take my Passat there. They specialize in Audi and Volkswagen. Do a search on google to find them. Last time I was there, the owner even offered to show me the worn out parts he removed from my car. That is unheard of anymore.
