There's a ton of different trends that you see in real estate. Unfortunately, that lighting, color, etc, becomes dated. What do you think will be the next isore?
My guess is the small speckled back splashes in kitchens.
Stainless. Hard to keep real stainless clean with no hand/paw prints. Accent walls (gawd, I HATE those red/rose/orange one wall in the great room things).
I've hated that oil rubbed bronze finish from day one. I recently replaced all the door hardware in my home which was brass with brushed nickel because I think it will stand the test of time better.
Antique white kitchen cabinets seem to be on the way out. They were very hot around here for a few years.
1. Stainless steel appliances - replaced by gray or white
2. Granite - replaced by quartz (which is way better anyway)
3. Dark hardwood floors - replaced by natural color after people figure out that dark emphasizes dust and scratches
4. Wood grain or linen look ceramic tile - it will just look dated (it is in EVERY new build in my neighborhood)
Top dollar, very tired look already, and people will experience financially-induced cardiac arrest when they find out what it will take to replace them when the next generation of trendy "Updaters" come to buy.
The long tile (typically 36-48" long X 6-10 wide) that simulates a hardwood floor. This is very popular in most new home communities right now. Even though it looks nice it will eventually cool off and everyone will say "Oh you built your house in 2012-2013".

Tile is for people who cannot afford wood from a tree....

Mike, what are these floors. Don't know that I've every seen them.
