Just curious if anyone has ever had success by putting a listing on Craigslist. I figure it can't hurt to throw it up there along with the other avenues. Am i right in thinking that, or is it a waste of time?
My house is currently for sale and I have it listed on Craigslist. I haven't sold it yet, but I do get a lot of calls from people who saw it on Craigslist.

Thats at least promising. AT least people are looking at it. I'm just feeling that people in my area (Allentown, PA) arent really internet savvy and probably rely on the papers, etc. I'm basing this on what I've seen throughout my 7 years here and the traffic on the Lehigh Valley forum here.
I put Both of my places on Craigslist and 2 days later I spent 3 hours trying to get them removed. All I got was spam and somethings that would not be rated GP that had nothing to do with the properties and these "hits" came from Chicago so it wasn't someone local. Now my realtor has them on there and he to has gotten some garbage but no one interested. So that is just MY experience and I will never list on their again for anything.
I use craiglist along with quite a few other online venues. I get some good, some garbage, from advertising on there, but since I started using vflyer and Real Estate Shows flyers for my craigslist advertising, the ratio of garbage to good contacts has gone WAY down - guess the bots can't read the flyers.
I just had someone from "Nigeria" post one of my listings on Craigslist as a rental. Thankfully, a few of the people who contacted the bogus landlord drove by the house, saw my sign, and called me.
I use Craigslist, but similar to Texashorselady, I use a service that posts in HTML and when you click to the pictures, takes you back to the listing on my website. I get a lot traffic from Craigslist and have picked up buyers from there......
My website provides a way to semi-manually post to craigslist, which links back to my site. Recently added a listing, got a call the next day and sold it. Of course that's not the norm - but it does get a lot of hits and traffic to my website.
My daughter posted in another town for roomates (college rental house), had both bedrooms leased within a week.
