Ordinarily I take my cabin fever tropical vacation in March, but didn't this year. Instead, I received the most gorgeous tropical flower arrangement from my aunt for my birthday a month ago. In addition to thanking her when I got it, I called the florist a month later (they are a brand new shop) just to tell them what a great job they did on the arragement, it was still alive and well and how nice I thought it was. The woman was absolutely elated to receive that call.

All too often we are quick to pick up the phone to call a company or business to complain about something, but rarely do it when they do something well. More people should compliment just as much as they complain.

I spent the evening with my friend of 36 years. He lives 13 hours away by car, and he came home to pack his ailing mother up to take her back to NY with him. We watched Big Bang Theory and Grey's Anatomy together and had a yummy Pizza. He was only here a couple of hours, but it was nice to see him at all, given both our hectic schedules this week.

I agree. Sometimes I will call a company that is doing an awesome job and the person on the other end will be really speechless and not know what to say. I also leave them my address in case they have any promotions or coupons they might want to send me.
