Most women wouldn't ask a man out specially in western culture. It's rare but it may happen.
In what culture is this more likely to happen than western culture? Everywhere else I can think of, this is less likely. Eastern, Muslim, etc. - perhaps in some primitive cultures?
I think it's perfectly fine - and actually a wonderful thing - when women feel like they can take the initiative.

Like I have mentioned before, call it culture or big coincidence but when I lived in Japan and get to travel in Asia for vacation and/or business, I see it so common for a girl to approach me to ask for a date just like I do as well. Doesn't necessarily have to be in Asia as I have met Asian women (non westernized) while living in a western country who also have taken the initiative to ask me out regardless of knowing me for a long time, a few days, or right there on the spot. And no, I am not talking about women of the night or girls who just want a ticket to a 1st world country. It's not girls asking a guy to take them out like some women have mentioned on this thread, its not a girl asking a guy out so he can take care of her, no. When they have asked me out, they mean it. It's girls asking me out TO TAKE ME OUT just like men do in western countries with women all the time. I am no Adonis nor a baking accident (hello Rediska lol) so if you are a good looking guy, you would probably see it more often than me .
Just an update the date went well. And he calls me daily. Going out again soon.
