Just last night the bf and I were discussing a recent reunion he had with his schoolmates.
He said most of the men in his class got married shortly after high school, and are now divorced with a few kids and starting from square one.
If the divorce stats are right, then it should be around 50 percent of them are like that , or will be. The saddest part of that are the kids who wont get to experience a mom and dad under the same roof for maximum positive emotional development .

A recent poll had 40% believing that marriage is an obsolete institution. Of the remaining 60%, certainly a significant minority do not believe that it's right for them.
These percentages increase as boys mature into men and get some life experience.
Many men on this forum do give the impression that all men view marriage as pressure, but being the majority here doesn’t exactly translate to being the majority in real life.
Pressure from a girlfriend is not the same as pressure from parents, other close family and employers.
The girlfriend and the institution of marriage itself results in stress more than pressure.
'The statistics say otherwise. Also they are skewed by younger men (and boys) who have a higher rate. As men age, the percent interested, declines rapidly'
REPLY: Which is why the stats of men aged 45-65 represent only 6.9 percent for remarriage. , and women 3.0 percent for 45-65 age range. It certainly shows that Men make their move toward marriage at a young age .
Nothing like a couple of 17 year olds to think they can make it work! Well... for a week or two!
