I've been in the stripper business for 13 years..I know what I'm talking about. Yes, there are women (no matter age) who do "special" stuff. However there are a few, including myself, who don't do that stuff and still make a ton of money. What people, who have no clue of what they are talking about, don't understand is that not all men who go into strip clubs are looking to get off. I have many, many clients who enjoy a good conversation with a very attractive woman and they are willing to pay for that.
Now as far as strippers going into the porn industry, it happens all the time. Whether they enjoy it, well that's to each their own. I'm sure those who don't, enjoy the several thousand they are getting paid for a shoot that lasts maybe an hour or less.
Give me a break. Nobody goes to strip clubs to ogle 40 year old women twirling around a pole. You are living in fantasy land.
Im gonna go out on a limb here. I think that for the most part porn stars do like what they do. I don't know if they have a choice of who they want to do it with but for the most part the whole selection process is based on attractiveness.
On the other hand I think that escorts/prostitutes are not in it for the joy but for the money. Lets be real, a lot of people who find the need to have to pay for sex are probably not the most attractive so therfore making it dreadful for the "sex workers".
I don't know if they enjoy it or not but the women in the sex industry are extremely shallow, money hungry and snobby. They are nothing like how they present themselves to their audience and customers. So I don't care if they ruin their lives.

I have to say that, while I didn't ask her this specific question, I am pretty sure she really liked being a porn star and I know she loved the sex. She continued to be involved with swingers and returned to the industry in the 90s, although I don't know whether she still is (involved with the porn industry) at this time.
Another friend knows a different female porn star - they met at a swing party - so I'd have to say that sexual enjoyment was not a problem.
I suppose, as another poster said, it's like any other job - some people like their job, some hate it, some like what they do but not the job of doing it.
I've never judged people by their job so I guess it's not surprising I would know someone in this career. What an eclectic group of people my friends are.

WHO said I didn't know anyone in the industry? Well, I know strippers and hookers and even waitresses who sometimes have done porn. I worked as a bartender in a city club and learned a LOT about certain types of women. I was naive in trying to be open to all of my co-workers and was privvy to many conversations.
Sorry, they will get no pity from me. Even the girls who work at Hooters have this princess attitude. Females leave tips too, they could learn.
I guess I don't view it as an attack on intelligence... When you think about it. What skills do you need? Acting? Hardly. A basic understand of acting is good. Skills? Well yes you'll need those. Perhaps knee pads.
Some make it a business investment and merchandise their names or image. I think some are quite shrewd.
I would say the intelligence to make a proper informed decision on what you're going to do, and the potential consequences.

There are some if they have made enough fame or have a specialty about them. Christy Canyon for example, even in her late 30's or now can pack a bar to see her perform and have a line of men wanting to meet or get her autograph.
