Yes, I did ignore the rest, since that came after the part where you came across as judgmental. I don't disagree with your "facts," just your attitude towards these people. And FYI, at least in the Netherlands, the rate of STD's among prostitutes is about HALF that of the general population. The STD card is overplayed as a scare tactic, IMO, though of course it should always be a concern for anyone who has sex.
I don't know how you got judgmental out of what I wrote. I'm not judging these people's quality as humans. I'm stating I feel bad for their quality of life. *shrug*
I have no attitude towards these people. I am not using any scare tactics, just plain ole facts. If you are having sex with multiple people daily (which many porn actors do), yes, you do increase your risk of STDs. It's not a judgment. It's a statement of fact.
And FYI, prostitution is legal in the Netherlands and the prostitutes there have access to government healthcare. You are comparing trucks and ants there.
You will have good ones and bad ones. Dumb ones, smart ones. Ones that succeed, ones that crash. Like you would find in any other career field.
This is true, but having sex with a person you don't respect, or even one you dislike, is about as gross as something can be imo. To be clear, I know many men willingly do this for no money. It doesn't seem to be as common with women.
As much (or as little) as other people enjoy theirs.
They can also spend their entire lives not making more than 10k / year - it depends upon talent and Fate.
This one throws me. How do you come to that conclusion?
Well, we apparently already know your viewpoint but yes, I've had an acquaintance with a dozen or so, been friends with several.
Some enjoyed it, some didn't; to some, it was just a job; to others, a lifestyle. As in all other career fields.
Look, they're humans. They're subject to the same soaring heights and loathsome depths as the rest of us - don't treat them like an exhibit at the zoo.
Having been involved with escort work many, many moons ago I can say the same thing I did for Deez Nuttz - it all depends upon talent and Fate. Yes, it can be a difficult life if you're not suited to it; usually you find that out before long. If you don't, you have more pressing issues than simply escorting.
Many escorts are college-educated; many others attend college as they work. Your customers are not always physically unappealing.
You will have good ones and bad ones. Dumb ones, smart ones. Ones that succeed, ones that crash. Like you would find in any other career field.
That's like asking people not to gawk at a car accident don't you think? They willingly put themselves in front of the camera, in positions some have never heard about, for all the world to see. So yeah, they kinda are like a zoo exhibit.
I cited my quote. The information I am stating is readily available to anyone cares to find it.
Citing your own quote doesn't make it the truth. It makes you look a fool. If the material is out there then you shouldn't have any problem providing the information. The burden of your proof relies on you.
As far as STD's they frequently test the performers and are almost like a union.
At the end of the day, this is a career path in which women are washed up before they turn 30 (which is why it's always men championing the sex industry as a viable career choice - guys aren't washed up by 30, unless they are a gay twink star). Very, very few parlay their money into something that will sustain them for a lifetime. Yes, some attend college - those are the women who strip for a couple years when they are 21 and quit ASAP. But a women who is, say 28 and still shakin it on the pole or is still doing porn? Bad life ahead of her as she gets phased into doing the more "colorful" or should I say "edgy" aspects of the adult sex industry. By 30 she's not getting tons of money thrown at her for little effort. Instead she's doing nasty, humiliating stuff. I'd bet no more than 1 out of 100 women end up with the star power to sustain a career without resorting to the nastier stuff that;s out there.
I would think that it is just a "job" to most porn stars.
IDK, I personally don't care about it either way. I saw a behind the scenes doc about the making of a porn flick. The amount of tedious boring technical aspects sorta ruined the fantasy of porn, really, for me anyway.
The director jumps over and started yammering at the guy about not blocking the view or how he should be acting blah blah blah.
I don't wonder if they like it, no. Some of them seem to enjoy it, but most of what I've seen is either obvious overacting or angry, hateful sex. It's a show. When I do wonder about adult film actors, it's usually to wonder if their families know and whether the money is worth it.
There are plenty of porn stars in their 30s. Granted, their career won't last forever, but it can last after 30.
