Crabs, I can't remember if you can see YouTube videos, but here's one of my favorites by Daft Punk. Just a very goofy video with a catchy little dance tune.
No, I'm sorry. Youtube is blocked for us. Have not heard of them but as I said I'm kind just starting to listen to it now. I have been liking some of the Indian stuff and a lot of the more melodic bands. The compelely cyber stuff isnt my cup of tea. Some bands I have liked that I have run into so far are M83, Moby, Kaya Project, Buckethead, Chilled C'quence, and Side Liner. Anything based on those groups you think I might be interested in? I'll be in Dutch tomorrow so I will likely try to aquire some new music.
I'll think about it and try to come up with some suggestions. I am not good at knowing the different genres so I will try not to think of anything too off base. I often have Pandora playing (free "smart" radio that chooses songs based on your taste) electronica or house music at home while I am working, but that might be too techno for you.
Its not the techno. Music that has no beat or discernable melody doesnt really work for me. lol If I don't know when to tap my toes I figure its time to listen to something else.
I've always had a closeted lust for techno and trashy EuroSynthPop , but trance is I suppose the closest to my heart, as it imitates in many ways the meditative music I use when I teach.
Not quite techno, but Enigma has ALWAYS been a favorite of mine. Their trademark mixture of Gregorian chants and deep, sexy lyrics and beats always gets my juices going - in fact, I've converted many of the dancers into believers, if they weren't already.
Crabs, maybe take a look at Beck's newer stuff (I like "Hell Yes") and Massive Attack ("Teardrop").
And I submit that if you can't tap your foot to Daft Punk, you may be certifiably dead. I can't NOT dance in my chair when I listen to them. But you might like the stuff I recommended above better. Like I said, I don't know my genres very well, so I am guessing.
We watched this interesting documentary today, it was called Young@heart. It was about these older people, the average age was 80. It was about them performing music chorus style, they covered a variety of music, from Bruce Springsteen to Radiohead to James Brown.
It was quite moving at times to see these people's lives and their stories.
It turns out one of the guys has some Daft Punk, part of his wifes music that he has on his laptop. I'll be getting it from him sometime today.
I recall back when Enigma got a little radio play. Not all that long ago I saw their first three albums and LSD for 11 bucks and picked them up. Of course I had to shop a little more to hit 25 dollars and get the free shipping. lol

Don't publicly admit to liking Enigma! You're joining the ranks of the likes of Sifu and me...
