Yeah perhaps, only if the woman is unemployed or homeless, when women have equal rights in every sphere of life, why is it that only a man is supposed to pay for the tab, that too on the first date, without having any assurance of getting a second date, it's understandable if the people have a thing going for each other, in that case, it wouldn't matter at all, but on the first date when the people are merely getting to know each other, I would recommend splitting up the tab rather than assume that the man should pay.
