When it comes to women's physical preferences, no qualities appear to be more outside the realm of compromise than these two. Men whose height or race lies beyond the purview of a woman's stated preference typically have the greatest difficulty getting these women to like them, despite whatever the men may have to offer in the way of personality and (to an extent) financial status.
But which carries more weight than the other? If you had a choice between a shorter guy of a race you prefer or a taller guy of a race you do not prefer, who would you choose?

It's all so individual. There's a vast difference between the Northern European look and the Southern European look (and that’s the same race), which I strongly prefer, as far as face goes. Those guys tend to be shorter, but I'd rather compromise on that.

My racial preferences are based upon physical attraction, so if I wasn't attracted to the dude, then it's not even a question for me.
I don't think you should say that race is a "deal breaker." Everyone has preferences and as a result we all have ethnicity/races which aren't even on our radar. That doesn't make it a deal breaker, it just means that particular look isn't a source of attraction. It's not like the typical person thinks, "Oh I really like him but he's from Sri Lanka. So forget it."

So, why can`t it be a taller guy with the same race?
