I hated the long cold winter but man, it was better than this stinkin' heat

That's probably the reason why I get that weird vibe.

I am 17 nautical miles from Russia, it is 41 degrees. Not sure what the temperature is here in the winter, the area is then several hundred miles north of the ice edge. Believe it or not that heat that you all are complaining about doesn't sound all that bad to me. Course I have little doubt a few days of it would have me wanting to be back here. O_o

It's not the heat so much as it is the humidity.

I broke down and bought a window A/C unit last Friday. That was money well spend. I live in a small enough house that it cools the whole thing with the help of fans. Last night was cool enough we had the windows open and a nice breeze through the house.

Aaaww, you poor things with your window units! No offense, I know things are different in your parts of the country, but those window units remind me of cheap motels.

Congrats!

I am in a 80 year old house with a cobbled up layout in the middle of the country. No one around. As long as I am comfortable, I don't care.

I understand. Just teasing ya, folks, stewing in your own juices. You either freeze or stew - double whammy! Unless you hide from tornadoes that is. Do you ever have decent weather?!

Midwest weather has more severe mood swings than the posters in this forum. May is about the only real decent month and sometimes June and September and that's pretty much it. This weather ALWAYS happens in July without fail. We'll be cranking pretty soon about snow and ice in no time.

Spring and fall and for the most part may and june were spiffy nice. Were I live is well sheltered. It is in a nice canyon and tornadoes are somewhat rare, they happen, but are usually east or north of where I live.
