I seem to be running into alot of women who are caught up in the status lifestyle. As a teacher, I earn a middle class income and am fine with that. Do I really have much hope in finding someone who isn't really into all the material possession and status stuff as a way of measuring someone's desirability as a potential dating partner?

Neither. There are many that want the luxury living in an era with material possessions that could not be had 30 years ago. That does not make them materialistic.

Materialism is an equal-opportunity corrupter of human souls.

What does a woman have to have/do in order for her to be materialistic in your eyes? A lot of dudes throw around the terms "materialistic" and "entitled" when talking about "what's wrong with women today" but I don't get the sense they know what they mean when they say that.

If not wanting to drive a beater and owning more than two pairs of shoes makes me materialistic, then yes, I guess I am.

Might want to reconsider your screen name.

LMAO! yeah...."I will NOT dream of bunnies, I will NOT dream of bunnies! I am NOT a redneck, I am NOT a redneck.

Are you saying that because of her gender, she should cook or want to cook?
Really, are your arms broken?
Of COURSE it's not about gender! That would be sexist, wouldn't it? It would have more to do with HER having one more thing on her "to do" list, after working all day....so that HE doesn't have it on HIS list! Nothing at ALL to do with gender... and if you believe that...I've got some land 20 miles west of me....OH wait! That's 20 mi. out to sea!!

Not all women are materialistic anymore than are all men. Look around and find someone different to date.

Oh good god, it never ends does it, the "all women are materialistic", "all women are b*tches", "all women eat strawberry icecream".

What the heck is wrong with the men who post here?

I'm just astounded at the broad generalisations and the obvious women-bashing.

I think pretty much everyone in America is somewhat materialistic including males.
