lol. no. They were..snap on? basically just pull them off or slide them on.

They were not poor girls. Now, they were used frequently that night, but they were not poor.

Assertiveness is a tool to get a person out of trouble, not into trouble. A woman should be able to be assertive when she needs to be.

That in itself isn't the reason things worked. That's the way things were because the majority of women had little to no options.
