Oh, baloney. Hop on Google and find a credible one with an academic basis. And by that I don't mean some bogus survey from the brain trust that brought us How To Pick Up Women.
Womanizing means having relations with multiple or with other women while you're married or in a relationship. Thus, they're basically cheaters and liars.
The same reason so many people fall for con artists, scams, and Chrysler dealers. They take that person at face value and trust him and his promises, only to get burned after the 'transaction' is made. Hope that answers your question.
Actually, I was always too sharp for that. And I just didn't treat the women in my life that way, thanks. But I've seen the casualties among friends, co-workers, and the like. It's not pretty.

Absent any emotional or moral responses, "womanizing" would fall under the heading of "promiscuity". A few studies in this field ...

Sifu, I realize you have an agenda to push that everybody should be jumping into bed with everybody else, but surely you know that promiscuity and womanizing are two completely different words. Womanizing is about moving from target to target. And, to be honest, I bet I could find an equal number of citations in medical literature that refute all the studies you have above. And let's not even discuss the metastasizing growth of STDs in this country.
Nope. Back to the original point. A guy who moves from woman to woman, promising one thing and then moving on, is pretty much a destructive presence. Hey, if everybody recognizes its casual sex, then that's one thing. But the guys we're talking about aren't doing that. They'll say and do anything just to put another notch on the bedpost.
My point was as follows: in my view somebody (s) created the word "womanizer" primarily to put men down, while ignoring the fact that the women who are having sex with these supposedly "womanizers" are doing the same thing, or having sex with different men. There are a lot of women out there that behave exactly the same as these men. They may not always be as pushy nor muscular, but they are conquerors of men. You can see it on TV, movies, some of your neighbors, and so forth, and there is nothing new about it since it has been going on for a long time.

Fear not, there is a word for women who do this too, also starting with W.
Too much religious influence in personal relationships rots the mind.
Like anything else it's possible, but not necessarily true. In general, a religious influence is good for one's morals. It's we (humans) who usually do not follow any kind of moral restrictions. We all break laws at one time or another, or do all kinds of things that are considered amoral.
