Hagen, I am an eighteen year old girl in college and I feel like I'm the exact same way as you. I hate it when guys act too confident and put down others, and I also don't drink. I'm actually attracted to guys like you, so I don't think you should change at all! The right person will find you some how, just continue to put yourself out there and I'm sure, with time, you'll find someone. I can honestly say that I'm really shy too and have been getting worried because I think that many other guys like confident, decisive girls, and I'm just not one of them. I have an engineering degree and pumped iron for 5 years, I got so hulked out I could have done ameture competition. At the end of the day the only thing that helped was lowering standards until women were interested.
I am an a hole at heart but if you play that game in a bar or some such thing and things escalate then you just go to jail and now you have a record and still did not get laid.
Women want things just douchy enough that things don't really get real, its like a fake masculinity, when bullets start flying or there is some very serious violence you don't see them getting wet you just go to jail.
Well...I have been approaching women for like 7 years now and I'm not to happy to say that after all this time I have never had a girlfriend, a date or even my first kiss for that matter....and last week I was at this party and 4 of my friend's girlfriends started talking about the fact that they never see me with a girl..of course I didn't tell hem that I was a virgin but said that I didn't get a lot of dates though..and as the conversation progressed they said that:
1) I was too quiet, which gives a shy feel, and women almost never go for shy guys...
2) The way i dressed and groomed my self makes me look too young and not " alpha maleish" looking...
3) I am too mature, responsible ( they pointed out the fact that I never got drunk as an example) and that was killing my game..
4) Other women don't see me with a lady by my side, which doesn't give me a lot of status
5) I live with my mom and women see this as a weakness..( I will not ditch my mom by the way....it's only me and her here in the US..at least until my dad gets his green card and moves here...)
Believe me I know they are not the most reliable source of wisdom...but at least they were honest...

There's a good chance they may be right. But considering most women are screwed up, probably 90% of them, assume those are the types you don't want to attract. Stand your ground and that one who is stable will eventually come around. You'll be glad you didn't worry about the others. those things you mentioned above are superficial. Don't worry about your image and you'll attract the same. Good luck, you sound very grounded.
The only issue with this is, how long does this waiting process go on while masterbating to internet porn. Maybe the OP can move somewhere prostitution is cheap and legal so your not suffering during the interim.

This is a really old thread so I don't know if my answer will help. I think the girls are mostly right.
1) Yep, try to be more outgoing, and try to take initative. That will make you look a lot less shy
2) Yep, once an adult then start dressing like an adult. Throw out the baggy pants and hoodies, get a nice jacket, fix up your hair, etc.
3) This is bad advice. You are not too mature. Thats not the problem, because you want to date a mature girl. The problem is that you never have fun. Go out and have some fun once in a while. Doesn't need to be drinking, it can be inviting your friends to a BBQ party, or do downhill skiing or mountain climbing.
4) Thats not something you can solve easily.
5) Depends on your age. If you are under 24 this shouldn't be a problem. If you are older, then yes move out.
