What? How does a SINGLE person cheat?? Wouldn't they have to be in a relationship first to be able to cheat?
I second that.... A boyfriend or girlfriend is just that. Then again why do people past high school have a boyfriend or girlfriend? You date for 3-5 years and then break up and you realize you wasted 3-5 years of your life you can't get back.
For me it's married women that makes me not get married. I've ran into too many of them who tell you after the fact. Not to mention all the personal stuff you shared along with the fact the other person also knows every inch of your body and all of your nasty physical secrets.. The kind of things only a husband or wife should know.
The article is inane... and old. There is no way 65% of married women cheat, though I do believe women cheat just as often as men.
And people need to nail down exactly what "cheating" is. To me, cheating means having sex with another person (whether it's oral sex, actual intercourse, etc.) Yet to my college students, they think cheating can mean kissing, groping, even having an emotional affair where the two parties never even meet (cybersex sort of thing). Yeah, I would be pissed if my husband kissed or made out with another woman, but I would not regard that as "cheating."

great post, echos my thoughts exactly. it should be re-iterated that the article itself questioned what "cheating" really meant when it asked "but what does that mean?".
i remember recently hangin out with some college girls at a club, and after they danced with some guys, one of them suddenly started feeling super guilty. when i inquired why, she said she had "cheated" on her BF because they had a pact that neither would dance with someone else. lol...cute but completely bizarre, IMHO!
so yeah, they really should clarify what they meant by cheating.
and yes, what soviet said: long term monogamy is unnatural.
This article seems to have different statistics. I think it's pretty impossible to accurately say what percentage of people cheat - men or women. However, I HIGHLY doubt that it is as high as 65%. It couldn't possibly be skewed because she wrote a book about it and wants to make some money! That's just not possible!
It is hard for me to believe that 65% of married women cheat, and if that is the case, there are a large number of men who also cheat. It is also hard for me to believe there are women who have written threads on this forum that say "their husband or SO is cheating because he is looking at porn (and thinking)". To me cheating is actually doing the physical act. To Bill Clinton, oral sex wasn't cheating. I say it is whether you are giving or receiving, because you are still an active participant (unless you're asleep). The moral of this story is: keep your lady happy and she won't stray (and if she does, she'll keep her mouth shut).
I was watching a special on the History channel about Vietnam the other week. At one point there was this elderly couple. They were married before the war. At one point, the husband had been taken prisoner by the NVA. He was missing for a year or two if I'm not mistaken. Then he was finally rescued and came back stateside, and guess who was there at the air force base waiting for him... his wife. And they're still together today. Ya just don't see that kind of commitment and dedication to another person any more.

Apparently, over 65 percent of all married women cheat.
Guess you'd better get to the gym, come home with roses, clean the bathroom, and then get your b*tcharse back in the kitchen and bake her some pie before she runs off on you, then.
