Do men actually enjoy going to a restaurant as their "first date" or is that just to please a woman also. Going to a restaurant sounds like a girlie type activity for a man.

I like dining out. You don't have to cook or clean up afterwards. What's girly about that?
Oh good grief! All this anger is not good for a person! Honestly - I think there are still lots of gentlemen in real life and on this forum - they just aren't as loud as the others! And it seems to me that many of the guys that are complaining on this thread and others don't want to be a gentleman anyway - so what's the big deal!
Whenever I tell my SO about a thread like this one and some of the characters on it, he furrows his brow and usually says something like, "And they wonder why they don't have a girlfriend/boyfriend."
Another favorite is, "They don't like it/they don't get it, so no one else should have it/do it that way," or "They can't figure it out so everyone else is wrong."
And sometimes he gets right to the point, with "What an ahole." He uses that term in a gender-neutral way.
I'd rep you Yzette, but it says I've given you too much and need to spread the reputation points, but your SO is absolutely CORRECT in his assessments.

I eat out probably twice a week. I love eating out. What's girly about that? I never heard that one before. Who doesn't like being waited on and not having to cook their own meal?

You know how to treat a woman supermanpansy.
Too bad some others haven't a "clue" of what you're talking about, including some of the women (which I find very sad).

I can think of a million things that would make me feel "pampered" or create "romance" on a first date...its sad to think some women's idea of that includes shelling out some cash at the end of a meal...
