So we all know that there is no such thing as "perfection". But there are some things about a person that will just make you go "Uhhh.....no.". And fully decide to stop dating or being with them.

What are these things for you personally? What are your deal breakers?

Oh yes. My deal breaker is negativity. Sadly, in my age group it is epidemic.

Where are the over-40 men who see the humour, fun and beauty in the world around them? Où est la joie de la vie??!?!?

Yes we all have baggage but it doesn't mean you can't learn how to put it into storage when you need to.

Arrogance is the worst. Just because we look at you, dude, doesn't mean we want you.

Me personally, I seek honesty and compassion. Someone who thinks they are better than everybody else goes to the back of the line.

I met someone once, a long, long time ago, when internet dating was starting to get popular.

So I talked to this one person for a couple of weeks who lived about 100 miles from where I lived. When this person sent me this picture, I saw a real good looking individual.

Anyhow, we finally talked about meeting; we were going to go grab something to eat, go to the movies and then hang out or whatever.

We decide to meet in this Wal-Mart parking lot; I am so intelligent I didn't ask this person what they were driving. So I waited and waited and waited, thinking I was going to get stood up, when all of the sudden I hear someone calling my name. This person who looked to be in their 60s calls me by name all while I'm thinking "Who is this?"... this individual proceeds to tell me "Oh, that picture I sent you, was me in 1971"

I didn't even shake this person's hand. I got in my car and took off. If someone is going to lie to you about something as obvious as their personal appearance, you will wonder what else they are lying about...

So yeah, someone who is shady and deceitful.

Lots of Deal Breakers for me :

Being Boring - Cardinal Sin IMO.
Racism
Homophobia
Dishonest
Sexism
Xenophobia
Bigotry in general
Cruelty
Selfishness
Thoughtlessness
Lack of intellectual curiosity
Someone who does not enjoy travelling
Arrogance
Stupidity
Dirty/Poor Oral Hygiene/Smelly
Anyone who does not like Animals
Someone who wants Kids
A Mommy's Boy
Gym Bunny
Obsessive about Hobbies, Sports etc... An interest in stuff is great, an obsession I can do without
No interest in Culture ( The Arts, Theatre, Music, etc...) - We need to be compatible

Gender bashing will not be tolerated. You can make your list but do not bash either gender. These are deal breakers and they apply to both men and women

??? Some people wear prescription sunglasses. I'm one of them. I'm really going to be excluded because I wear those glasses indoors during errands?
