Looks and intelligence are positively correlated? Ok. On how many studies? Why have I rarely seen this in a small enough HS and college where you pretty much knew people's class standing? I didn't see many women that were really attractive that were above the B/B+ GPA mark. Perhaps another study would be to measure whether these attractive intelligent people applied themselves? I think there is definitely an inverse correlation here. They expect handouts, positions through connections, and people to fawn over them.
I will agree that looks and earning ability are positively correlated. If you go into corporate sales, marketing, advertising, P/R, or the less technically sophisticated areas of financial services, the attractive people do well because people want to be around them, people want to socialize with them, and thus hand them business or accounts. That's for the most part who you see changing planes in airport concourses, texting or having a very rehearsed sounding conversation on their cell phone. God forbid they tried something more "technical." For someone who is marginal or average on the looks scale, choose a technical occupation, where your ability to make money is more correlated to "what you know." Though this won't guarantee you the mate of your choosing.
Oh, yeah, and if they have to measure attractiveness for psychological studies, then they have to rank people: 10, 9, 8, 7, etc., right?

I highly doubt the poll was voted strictly by women..
A person can look good, not have much money and still be just as undateable as a person who's loaded, not so good looking- both having undesirable personal qualities..
A partnership for life goes beyond superficiality. It's not to say that if both guys had great personalities, then it wouldn't work- depends the chemistry (emotional, psychological, physical)..
I have good looks except that I'm short, so I can't win there. I have lots of money though but I still don't attract women all that easily. So I would say neither of those alone (or even together) will win you women. Those things are just not on the top of their list. Confidence is by far the #1 thing they go for.
It's extremely tough for even a short rich man since height is very very very important. I agree that confidence is the key but being taller helps a lot, you have to be extraordinary in everything else if you are a short man that aspires to pull women that taller men who look like you get.

However, on all these forensic TV shows, look how many people will kill their spouse at the drop of a hat for the insurance money & they've many times been having affairs w/ others anyway. Also, look how many women you see w/ the old, bald, fossil face, who's RICH.
Many women just like to be able to be pampered, shop, travel, get lavish gifts, be wined & dined. That can't be done if the man doesn't have money.
