How are we defining porn here? An image of an hot woman naked? Sure - that's cool. Maybe a tease video of her? OK sure. But an actual video of some dude and her performing the act? No thanks. I am not judging it as "wrong," but that level of detail just kills it for me.
Part of the turn off is how absurdly fake it all is. OK, yes, technically, the sex is "real," but there's no passion or anything. I mean, I don't get scared during explosions during movies, which are fake, so I guess it's not surprising to not get turned on watching "fake" sex.
Also, as soon as you act the whole thing out, complete with some other guy in the scene, your imagination is ruined. Suddenly, you're just a spectator, which isn't really a hot place to be.

nudity in films is automatically rated-r. but there are rated pg-13 films where people get shot.
Crazy double-standards exist in this nation.
You may remember the Super Bowl half-time nipple-slip from some years ago. Oh, the horror - a nipple! We're all doomed! Think of the children - oh, noes!
Meanwhile, I can turn the TV on during prime on any day of the week and find a show where some poor sod is being beaten, shot, tortured mentally or physically, etc. - and that's just on over the air TV. And that's all perfectly healthy, we're to believe, and normal.
And then we wonder why as a nation we have a problem with excessive violence AND building healthy romantic relationships. I'm not saying the entertainment double-standards are THE problem, but they are at least a symptom of some rather unhealthy beliefs in this nation regarding violence, sex, and love.
I dont have a daughter, problem solved. Porn is just entertainment, come out of your bubble and live a little. If you dont like porn, dont watch it
It's not that simple. The majority of women (and I suspect many men) who do porn have major physical/sexual abuse in their backgrounds. Watching porn contributes to that abuse.
Besides that, it's actually bad for your brain and sex life:

+1K I actually saw this and many other TEDs on this subject and wholeheartedly agree with everything they say. IMHO, any guy who watches porn regularly and thinks it's no big deal doesn't know how to be sensuous with a woman on their own (and they don't care to learn how) and they don't have the capability of totally focusing ALL of their sexual energy, lust and desire on any ONE woman because they're too busy fantasizing about screwing every single attractive woman they see. To me, those aren't true men. Real men don't watch porn...instead, they give their ALL to the ONE woman they're in a relationship with. That's HOT.
lol. I watch porn all the time.
Most of my relationships, my GFs have watched them with me, and have gone out of there way to purchase porn to watch with me.
If you don't like it or it's not your cup of tea, that's cool, but I don't want to hear you complain about it in front of me or try to shove your beliefs onto me because you're wasting my time and your breath.
Well then, maybe you should avoid a topic, on a forum about porn. (That is, if you don't want to be exposed to someone else's beliefs.) LOL
Back in the day I didn't need porn...... It only became a necessity when I got married...
PS> I love it when people say "real" men (and define it) but forget to define "real" women... (and assume that its universally true)
