Simple question. Women who are very faithful when they are in a relationship, however, when they are single-all bets are off. Do men view women with many sexual partners as untrustworthy? Obviously this SHOULD be a case by case scenario...but I have a feeling it's not.
Opinions?
There is no logical reason to regard a woman as untrustworthy based on her varied sexual past. Many men seem to confuse trust with obedience and ownership.
Actually, women should be wary of such men.

Exactly. Unfortunately, some people, for some reason, cant make the distinction. They assume a women (or men) who have had many partners are not going to be content in a long-term relationship with one person.

I was just going off gut instinct, but if you want to pull the "logic" card...
The results presented in this article replicate findings from previous research: Women who cohabit prior to marriage or who have premarital sex have an increased likelihood of marital disruption.

Obviously it takes two to tango. For every women that has pre-marital sex and cohabitating prior to marriage, there is a man doing it with her...
Obviously. But in the context of that study, you seem to be assuming that there's no difference in men and women's sexual habits, motives, or brain chemistries.

If they are trustworthy in a relationship, then that's all that matters from that standpoint.
However, my issue with having multiple sex partners outside of the relationship would be that it seems to devalue the specialness of sex within the relationship. I mean, if you will do it with anybody, why should I feel good or special about you having it with me?
But it's not a trust thing. It's an intimacy thing.
It's not about trust it's about the reputation.. Consider sitting at dinner or some business function and every guy who comes in the room makes their way to your table and speaks with the woman.. You go to the bathroom and someone ask you "Is she your wife"?
Not many men want a woman many men have already had. That's just the way it is because women are held to a higher standard. How many men would marry a porn star.. We may date one but marry? Oh heck noooooooo.
